Jerzy Chrystian Arnold of coat of arms (1747-1827), physician, surgeon, historian of science.
He received his education in Leszno and Gdansk. He studied medicine at the University of Leipzig in 1768 obtaining the title of Dr. med.
He practiced medicine in Poznań and settled in Warsaw in 1777, where he received an indigene. In 1807-1817 he became a member of the Medical Council of the Duchy of Warsaw.
He was the author of the first bibliography of natural medicine, including a list of herbaria and other works containing descriptions of the fauna and flora of the Polish lands, preceded by a compilation of the most important foreign literature in this field from ancient times to the Middle Ages.
