The first scholarly work showing the trial and execution of the legendary robber Janosik (1688-1713), based exclusively on original court records and other archival materials of the period. In the process, Janosik's biography and the course of his brigand activities are reconstructed in detail, as well as the general geographic and historical background of the events.
