Fiddler 774 (1935 edition only). Good condition. Own stamp. Andrzej Szczepka. Memoirs of Volhynia from the years 1917-1919. One of the most important sources for the history of the eastern borderlands at the time of the Bolshevik invasion. "Pożoga" was written by the young author in 1922 and quickly gained great fame. Her account of the dramatic events, which she was an eyewitness to, was astonishing in its maturity of judgment and objectivity. By the outbreak of World War II, the book had six editions. Relatively quickly it was translated into English and Japanese. It describes the annihilation of borderland manors during the hostilities and revolutionary struggles in Ukraine in 1917-1919. Polish libraries were also lost during the looting and pogroms.
