Jan Ignacy Korytkowski (1824-1888), Catholic clergyman, historian, archivist, librarian, auxiliary bishop of Gniezno. He distinguished himself primarily as a historian. The compiled work is among the basic works for the history of the Polish church hierarchy. In recognition of his merits for the history of the Church, he became a correspondent member of the Academy of Arts and Sciences in Cracow and an honorary doctor of theology at the Faculty of Theology of the Jagiellonian University. Binding: brown half-leather (two volumes lighter, two volumes darker), scuffs and non-tears of binding, cloth of binding with rubbing and non-tears, traces of non-moistening and browning, traces of stamps. Good condition. Rare in the set.
