A novel by Tadeusz Konwicki, published in Zapis in 1977. It was the first Polish novel published in independent circulation.
A world of ubiquitous fiction, dreamy maya and memories, in which it is impossible to distinguish what is trauma brought from the past and what is the overwhelming present. Konwicki's Poland is a land of unbalanced proportions, suspended in time, stretching at the foot of the Palace of Culture - a symbol of the Soviet presence in the Vistula province.
Initially Konwicki planned to publish "Complex..." in the "Czytelnik" publishing house, but discouraged by the changes that the censors tried to introduce, he eventually decided to publish the work in an independent circulation.
