The French Civil Code, or Napoleonic Code, introduced on Polish soil during the Duchy of Warsaw in 1808. Its regulations were based on the principle of equality before the law of all subjects and broke with the restrictions of feudal law (feudalism). The Civil Code is widely regarded as a great masterpiece of legislative technique. The solutions adopted in the Code were modeled on the legislation of other countries. The work consists of three books: On persons; On property and the various determinations of property; On the various means by which property is acquired. Very rare.
