On pages woodcuts by Boleslaw Kiernicki depicting: Presidium of the Provincial National Council, Presidium of the Municipal National Council, Provincial House of Culture of Trade Unions, Central Station, Garrison Church, Presidium of the Provincial National Council, Provincial Committee of the Polish United Workers' Party, Head Post Office, Investment Bank, St. Wyspianski State Theater, Silesian Technical Scientific Establishments.
B. Kiernicki (1905-1979) - teacher and lecturer in professional Silesian schools before World War II. After the outbreak of war, he moved to Rzeszow, where he began his artistic activity. Thanks to his photographic memory, he recreated buildings demolished by the Germans in the form of woodcuts, watercolors and pastels. He made three portfolios of woodcuts: Old Rzeszow, Monuments of the City of Rzeszow, xx Piarist Church in Rzeszow. During the occupation he also made many ex-librises and postcards. After the war, he returned to Katowice, where he continued his graphic work and also took up teaching. In 1950 he moved to Warsaw, taking up the position of head of the Handwork Section at the Central Methodological Center. At that time he abandoned graphic work in favor of sculpture. Author of twelve books and more than two hundred articles.
