Tomus secundus - includes X books of the Ancient History of Israel, also includes a chapter describing the life of Flavius - all interpreted by the Czech nobleman and scholar Sigismundo Gelenio (1497-1554).

Hardcover, original 16th century - full brown leather with decorative embossed representation of "day and night" - sun and moon on front and back face. The edges of the pages are thickly gilded with an ornate chiseled geometric pattern.

The book comes from an excellent printing house: Sebastian Gryphius ( 1492 -1556) - a prominent German printer and bookseller.

Condition of preservation very good, small rubbing of the corners of the cover and spine. Block consistent handmade paper of the highest quality, clean.

On the title page and end page, 19th century stamp of the estate of the Jewish Theological Seminary in Breslau [ Breslau].

On the title page and in the text decorative initials and vignettes made in woodcut technique.
