Wonders of Poland is a series of Rudolf Wegner's Polish Publishing House, based on the French model, published between 1928 and 1939. Each of the fourteen volumes tells about a different corner of Poland, its history, geography, culture, and presents a complete picture of unusual places seen through the eyes of experts in these areas.
Jerzy Józef Gedeon Smoleński - Polish physical geographer, geologist, anthropogeographer, professor at Jagiellonian University in Cracow. He published a number of works on morphology, geology, physiogeography and anthropology of the Polish lands. He was head of the Department of Physical Geography, director of the Jagiellonian University's Geographical Institute and a member of the Jagiellonian University Senate, and in 1937 was elected Dean of the Jagiellonian University's Faculty of Philosophy. He initiated the creation of the International Association for the Conservation of the Bison. He was awarded the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
