PIENIĄŻEK Józef (1888-1953) - Krzemieniec.
Etching form. 17.3x11.7 on ark. 32.3x24.7 cm. Work signed on the plate: "Krzemieniec 1927" and "J. Pieniążek". Under the composition on the right hand side, handwritten pencil dedication by the artist: "To dear friend Kazimierz Łotocki in memory of 19 II 1929 Jozef Pieniazek". Slight soiling of the margins.
Józef Pieniążek (1888-1953) - painter and printmaker, specializing in metal techniques (etchings and aquatints), associated with Lviv, from 1945 with Krakow. Between 1908 and 1913 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, among others with Jozef Pankiewicz and Leon Wyczółkowski. His work depicted wooden and sacred architecture, as well as folk costumes characteristic of various regions of Poland at the time.
