Missing from the combined catalogs of Polish libraries (in BN only the frontispiece engraving). - Rare and little known Italian edition of the diary of William Coxe's (1747-1828) journey through the Republic during the reign of Stanislaus Augustus Poniatowski. It constitutes Volume I of a longer series, which was devoted to European travel in general. Its originator was the Frenchman Jean-François de La Harpe, who in 1780 published a 32-volume compilation of the diaries and reports of various European travelers (Abrégé de l'histoire générale des voyages). An Italian version began to be published in 1792.
