(Estr. T. 19). Good condition, non-staining. Acta Eruditorum, (literally from Latin: files of scholars), the first scientific journal in the German lands, published from 1682 to 1782. No. 12 contains: 2 first-prints of texts by Jan Hevelius, containing extracts from his letters devoted to the study of changes in the magnetic vector near the Earth's surface and magnetic field, a comet observed in August and September 1682 (sketch included) and the phenomenon of the aurora borealis visible in Danzig at the end of October that year; and a first-print of Wilhelm Gottfried Lebiniz's landmark work Meditatio de separatione salis & aquae dulcis, novoque separationum Chymicarum genere. Discussing the topic of the separation of sea and fresh water and about a new type of chemical separation.
