Good condition, underpapering of lower edge of some pages. The offered issue contains, among other things, the first printing of Hevelius' work "Historiola Cometae Anni 1683, " in which the author describes the course of a comet from his observatory located in Danzig between July 30 and September 4, 1683. The comet under observation was discovered by John Flmasteed and was named after him. Acta Eruditorum, (literally from Latin: files of scholars) - the first scientific journal in the German lands, published in Leipzig in 1682-1782. It published papers and reviews of research and scientific achievements of the most eminent minds of Europe at that time. Texts included law, medicine, physics, chemistry, astronomy, mathematics, history and geography. 9287/5
