GUL Roman - Red commanders. Voroshilov, Budiennyj, Blücher, Kotovskij. Warsaw 1934. tov. wyd. "Rój". 16d, pp. 274, [6]. broch.
Lack of circumference, otherwise good condition. Ex. mostly uncut. Ex. no. 1333. excerpt from a review from "Rifleman": [Voroshilov, Budiennyj, Blucher and Kotovskij - these are the four "red commanders of the Soviet army, whose life's dizzying career is described in a fiction biography by Roman Gul. The book is interesting, passionate, it is absorbed in one breath. After all, these people are associated not only with the new Russia, but also inscribed in the pages of Polish history, whose name is: the year 1920. The book is written lightly, colorfully, it reads like the best novel. Whether all the facts and events given are consistent with history is difficult to judge. A grudge can be held against the author for tendentiously giving Gen. Weygand credit for the victory achieved in the Polish-Bolshevik war. After all, every writer, whether he creates a scientific work, or just a novel, or historical sketches, should make an unbiased assessment of phenomena. The glory of the Polish arms in 1920 - is the sole merit of the military genii of the First Marshal of Poland!".
