The Greek Catholic Theological Academy in Lviv (also known as the Ukrainian Theological Academy) - "a theological academy of the Greek Catholic Church, established in 1928 in Lviv through the efforts of Metropolitan Andrew Sheptytskyi. It was established on the basis of the theological department of the Greek Catholic Theological Seminary in Lviv, and was later intended to become part of a planned Ukrainian university. The rector was Josyf Slipyj [...]. The university had two faculties: theological and philosophical [...]. The studies lasted five years. In 1934-1939, the number of students was 350-400, about 50-65 graduates graduated from the university annually, the scientific staff numbered 30. Lectures were held in Latin and Ukrainian" (Wikipedia). Today, after its reactivation in 1994, the academy operates as the Ukrainian Catholic University.
