[GRABOWSKI Ambroży]. Handwritten dedication by Ambroży Grabowski to an unnamed senator, along with a brief history of finding the dedication in the binding of an old book.
Excerpt from the second volume of A. Grabowski's "Historic Polish Antiquities" (Kr. 1840), published by A. Grabowski, covering pp. 465-478, with a handwritten correction of the text. Adhered to the front cover a small sheet of paper with a handwritten dedication: "To the collection of books to JW Senator I offer. A. Gr." At the beginning J. Dolinski added a card, on which he described the circumstances of finding the dedication: "On 2. XI. 1944 I bought from the leading Krakow bibliophile K. W. [Kazimierz Witkiewicz?] the book 'Historya Biblioteki Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego' by J. S. Bandtki, dated 1821. The book was cardboarded, bound in glued sheets of proofreading, done by the hand of A. Grabowski, and in blue paper. I unglued these sheets of paper. Among the pages of the book I found on a piece of paper a dedication to a 'Senator' (maybe Radwanski). I enclose this piece of paper."
