The best known and most interesting of Ejsmond's hunting works. The Polish Commission for International Intellectual Cooperation included this book in its list of the twenty best works published in 1929. The stories are based on Ejsmond's own experiences of communing with the nature of Vilnius, Volhynia, Polesia, the Carpathian Mountains, Greater Poland and Bialowieza.
