Extremely attractive binding in full leather, 6-panel spine, two fields with maroon tinted titlepage, convex scrolls, face and back cover with gold embossed decorations in tinted and gold embossed borders, marbled lining, and page edges tinted in similar style. Nearly 500 illustrations in the text and 64 on separate plates as pastedowns. Perfect state of preservation.
Panorama of social, family, political and military life of the 17th and 18th centuries based on analysis of works of Old Polish literature.
Jan Stanislaw Bystroń (1892-1964) - ethnographer and sociologist, professor at universities in Poznan, Krakow and Warsaw, member of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Author of almost 40 books.
