Barbara Nawratowicz met Piotr Skrzynecki, then a student of art history at the Jagiellonian University, in 1952 or 1953 in the queue for student canteen cards. She was associated with Piwnica pod Baranami from its beginnings, roughly the mid-1950s. She performed on stage in the cabaret, creating the creations of the Cruel Marquise, the Buduarian Cocotte, the Danish Queen and the Dutch Stripper, among others. During this time, she met Wieslaw Dymny, with whom she fell in love with reciprocity, and remained in a relationship for years to come....
