The author (1876-1934) was a photographer, he opened his first modern photography business in Czempin, his hometown, and the result of his passion and profession is the offered album. "Travelling a lot in the Principality, I noticed that our souvenirs - manors and mansions of the nobility - these witnesses of the former splendor, are being depleted with each passing day, already by rebuilding the historical seats of our ancestors, already by dismantling and erecting new ones". - from the introduction. The first part, descriptive, contains a list of more than 220 mansions and palaces, with brief characteristics, history, list of owners, etc., then all of them are presented in photographs, thus documenting the world of mansions and palaces of Greater Poland, which no longer exists today.
