Preserved old boards, slight stains in places, otherwise good condition. Missing plate 19 - Leszek the Black, replaced by repeated plate 14 with image of Mieczyslaw the Old. Several plates rearranged by the bookbinder. A rhymed tale of Polish history illustrated with drawings by Walery Eljasz-Radzikowski with a foreword by Wojciech Dzieduszycki. The work dedicated in print to Zdzislaw Czartoryski. The images of the rulers are shown in rich staffage symbolizing the times and circumstances of their reign. Thus, around the portraits can be seen historic edifices, elements of armaments, coats of arms, musical instruments, monuments. At the end, information explaining the layout of the plates: "There are 48 engravings, i.e. 44 images of Polish princes and kings, then 3 images from pre-Piast times [inserted at the beginning], and finally an engraving, depicting Kosciuszko, Glowacki and Kilinski." Infrequent.
