Dr. Filip Friedman (1901-1960)- historian specializing in the history of the Jews. After the war, he briefly taught Jewish History at the University of Lodz, was also director of the Central Jewish Historical Commission, and in 1946 testified as a witness at the Nuremberg Trial. He did not return to his homeland, remained in the American occupation zone, and permanently emigrated to the US in 1948.
