CZYŻEWSKI Tytus - Green Eye. Formistic poems, electric visions. Kraków 1920. gebethner i sp. 8, p. 71. broch.
Rypson I 7-8; SPKL 100; Peiper 492; ZPW 244; Straus 136. Entirely after professional conservation, back cover extraneous. Ownership signature of Maria Jarema. The poetic debut of T. Czyzewski. Foreword by Leon Chwistek and Jerzy Hulewicz. Author's cover and drawings in the text. "In Czyzewski's 'Green Eye' one can perhaps see most clearly the effectiveness of the lesson in 'freeing' words and typography given by Marinetti; already the title page of the volume signals to the reader the dynamism of the content ('electric visions'!) - the middle part of the title runs diagonally across the page. In subsequent poems Czyzewski used a rich set of fonts, different typefaces and sizes, letter clusters devoid of meaning, as in Dadaist poetry. The cover was printed in blue on an orangish background and is characterized by a simultaneity of graphic and lettering elements. In addition to purely typographic solutions, the poet introduced graphic elements of print composition, such as a hand with a pointing finger" (Rypson II, pp. 30-31). Infrequent.
