CZYCZ Stanisław - Background. Poems. Kraków 1957, Wyd. Literackie. 8, pp. 82, [1]. broch.
Very good condition. Ex. uncut. Cover and title page designed by Stefan Szlachtycz. Czycz's debut volume. "He entered literature with a scandal: wanting to enroll in the ZLP, he brought the poems of Milosz, then banned in Poland, and presented them as his own [...]. He made his debut in 1955 in 'Prapremiera pięciu poetów' in the pages of Krakow's 'Życie Literackie' (together with Miron Bialoszewski, Zbigniew Herbert, Bohdan Drozdowski, Jerzy Harasymowicz) [...]. Czycz's poetic work is maintained in a catastrophic-visionary tone [...]. His greatest fame came with the short story 'And' from the collection 'Ajol' (1967) [...]. He was always outside all environmental arrangements [...]. Three feature films were based on his work" (Wikipedia). At the beginning of the 21st century, his work - somewhat forgotten - was recalled by a group of artists gathered around the magazine "Ha!art".
