A classic and, despite the passage of many years since its publication (Krakow 1939), still necessary for work with medieval coins.
Nowadays some of the information it contains is outdated, and in some cases even the attribution of coins has been changed, nevertheless it is still a useful study due to its general knowledge and the huge amount of numismatic material compiled.
A very nice piece, in a technically excellent binding. Binding in good quality linen with clippings of the original publisher's binding pressed into the first and last pages of the cover.
Co-bound part of the text and tables. Tables pressed with expertise, each on a separate folder, also very convenient to use. Format of plates originally, publisher's smaller, but text block preserved with original wide margins - not trimmed to format of plates.
Noted on the title page that this is Volume I, but it is also the only CNP volume published. The time period of the coins compiled in it ends with the reign of Vladislav Herman. Volume II was never published in print (apparently only an unfinished manuscript of it exists).
Very good state of preservation.
Original edition, Krakow 1939.
Format 26 x 18.5 cm, 233 pages of text + 41 plates.
