[CIESZYN]. Typescript invitation to the funeral of "the great benefactor of the Dzięgielów Care and Education Institutions [...], friend of Poland and the Polish Nation" Karol Gustaw Fellenius, dated 1939.
Single-sided typescript on ark. 19x15.1 cm. Letter addressed by the Church Council of the Evangelical Augsburg Parish in Cieszyn to Prof. Jozef Figna in Cracow. The funeral was scheduled for July 2, 1939, and the service was to be held at the Jesuit Lutheran Church in Cieszyn. The deceased was a Swede, an inspector of the Swedish Treasury Ministry, an active member of the Swedish-Polish Society, the author of numerous scholarly works on the relationship between the two countries over the centuries, and the initiator of many campaigns to bring the Swedish and Polish peoples closer together. Under the text of the letter offered here, the seal of the parish and the typed signatures of the president of the Church Council, Rev. Karol Kulisz, and its secretary, Jan Valaski. Traces of folding, good condition.
