[CIESZKOWSKI Ludwik] - An anecdotal memoir from the times of Stanislaw August. From a manuscript published by J[ózef] I[gnacy] Kraszewski. Poznań 1867; Nakł. Księg. J. K. Żupański. 8, pp. VI, [2], 343. opr. wsp. psk. with preserved booklet cover.
Maliszewski 581. covers broch. with small losses, pasted on sheets of new paper, minor staining and local yellowing of paper. Own stamp. Andrew Szczepka. Edition I. From the preface: "The name of the author of the diary we are publishing has remained a mystery to us until now. The manuscript, written quite incorrectly, hastily and carelessly, came to us a decade ago in Volhynia [...]. We did not think that we were allowed to correct it or rather to spoil it under the guise of a more decent processing [...]. From the Poniinsky Sejm to the first years of the 19th century, 1809-1810, these memoirs of the author continue, although he speaks in them of earlier incidents, from 1770 to 1810." Cont. among others: Franciszek Salezy Potocki, Princes Czartoryski, Tadeusz Kosciuszko, Princes Benoni in Warsaw, Franciszek Dmochowski.
