Bronislaw Chromy was a co-founder of the Piwnica Pod Baranami in 1956, and almost half a century later, in 2000, a monument to the Piwnica was unveiled in Krakow's Decius Park, of which the artist was the author, creator and founder. This is what he said about it and his work: "The monument is my private work about the activities of the Cellar. I decided to make it free of charge, just like a couple of previous monuments, for which I took nothing. My payment is my satisfaction. It's enough for me that I have a fractious occupation and don't waste my time."
The album contains photographs of all 51 "basement" artists and people associated with it. They include Piotr Skrzynecki, Janina Garycka, Anna Dymna, Czeslaw Milosz, Teresa Stanislawska, Marian Eile, Jerzy Turowicz, Slawomir Mrozek, Andrzej Wajda, Grzegorz Turnau, Jacek Wójcicki, Dorota Terakowska, among others. This form is meant to refer to the Wawel Principals. The album also contains articles by Maria Ziemianin, Jerzy Madeyski and Boguslaw Zych in Polish and English.
The album additionally includes a description of the arrangement of the heads on both circles of the monument on a loose A4 sheet, stamped by Bronislaw Chromy's Author's Gallery in Park Decius.
