Bound in napa, original covers glued to fawn binding, traces of rubbing and unsoiling. Gilt edges of pages, engravings protected by tissue paper. Traces of untouched dirt and dampstain on pages. Otherwise good condition. The novel contains picturesque descriptions of the customs of the Lithuanian nobility just before the partitions and during the Napoleonic period, and above all colorful portraits of characteristic fictional and historical characters. Ignacy Chodźko (1794-1861) - Polish novelist and storyteller, wrote, among other things, a series of stories "Lithuanian Pictures."
