Young Poland erotica is discreet (...) Covers decorated with the full female nude are extremely rare exceptions. Only one is widely known, by Marian Wawrzeniecki, adorning the sixth notebook of "Chimera" from 1901. And here, too, non-female nudity, spread over an idyllic landscape, is veiled with fluffy, swan-like wings; at once feminine and seemingly unbecoming to a woman. For although the female nude is already sometimes shown at Warsaw art exhibitions - see Podkowiński's Frenzy - and it trills at the famous Parisian La nue au salon, in Poland in 1905 it was still regarded as an indecent fact and viewed quietly on postcards considered pornographic." source: Jan Straus, Now cover, Warsaw 2021, p. 277
