(Full edition of 1000 pieces). A beautiful and monumental work describing and illustrating the history of the Army of the Duchy of Warsaw. It contains, among others, the beginnings of the organization of the army; Poles in Spain 1807 - 1812 (Zaragoza); the 1809 Campaign in Poland; the Polish Army 1810 - 1812; the Moscow Campaign 1812; the Saxon Campaign 1813; the French Campaign 1814; Polish officers; and others. All decorated with beautiful illustrations by Jan Chelminski (1851 - 1925). He began his study of painting with Juliusz Kossak, and later studied at the Munich Academy with A. Wagner and privately with J. Brandt. From 1882 he was already permanently abroad. However, he did not break contacts with the country, and often sent his works to Warsaw exhibitions. He painted mainly military and battle scenes, most often from the times of the Duchy of Warsaw and the Napoleonic wars. Pieces uncut. Rare.
