First edition, book written under the pseudonym of Joseph Miche
Father Joseph Maria Bochenski wrote his work on Bolshevik philosophy while being a chaplain to the Polish Armed Forces in Italy during World War II. It was first published in 1946 in exile. The purpose of this work is to provide source information on the official philosophy of modern Bolshevism. Its subject, therefore, is neither the classical philosophy of Marx nor even the views of the Bolshevik philosophers, but only and exclusively a set of doctrines in force today in the U.S.S.R. as a basis for teaching in schools and constituting a canon to which all party activists should adhere.
