Second edition of the pioneering and major work of Michal Bobrzynski (1849-1935), a prominent historian of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, founder of the so-called "Cracow school of history" and leader of the Staunchist party. His scientific interests focused on medieval studies and early modernity. He was a teacher of O. Balzer, B. Ulanowski.
Thehistory of Poland from the Middle Ages to the end of the 18th century described here represents, in the rich historical literature of the 19th century, that position which aroused the widest interest and provoked the fiercest controversy. Polish history is divided into three periods: patriarchal, patrimonial and legal.
