"Album of Vilnius, or a collection of engravings and chromolithographs devoted exclusively to domestic subjects" was published in Paris from 1845 by Jan Kazimierz Wilczynski. It was a monumental publishing venture, carried out for a dozen years, including under the patronage of K. Swidzinski and J. I. Kraszewski. Two hundred and several dozen engravings were published - views of cities, portraits of famous Poles, illustrations to works of literature, as well as pictures of saints and even engravings on letterpress. "Wilczynski devoted a lot of care to the covers and wrappers for the various series of the Album, he thought carefully about the illustration part and layout" (J. Jaworska in "Rocznik Muz. Narod.", vol. 20). Figure after conservation, good condition.
