Rozalia Wójcik was born in 1972 in Częstochowa. By education she is an artist, illustrator and designer of applied forms. She is a graduate of the State High School of Fine Arts in Częstochowa. She has been doing easel painting for years.
The artist's main themes are portraying old cities, towns, tenements, female figures and cats, showing them in a fairy-tale convention.
"Painting for me is magic, painting a surreal world existing only in my imagination. It's a constant search, playing with colors, compositions, techniques. It's an escape from reality, I then go to a world of childlike innocence and naivety."
"Thanks to the developed technique of my own, I have achieved an interesting effect of the application of paint, and the structure of the canvas, and playing with colors allows me to reflect the fairy-tale atmosphere of my works."
