Magdalena BRONAKOWSKA (b. 1984, Augustów)
Graduate of the Institute of Fine Arts at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. She received her diploma in 2008 in the sculpture studio of Teresa Plata-Nowińska.
She paints in acrylic, oil and watercolor techniques. She is a graphic designer and author of illustrations. She paints using traditional media as well as on a graphic tablet. She creates body painting using natural henna. She is one of the few people in Poland involved in the art of mehendi, creating drawings on human skin with vegetable dyes. Her paintings combine a fascination with nature and folklore of her native land - Podlasie - with inspirations drawn from the culture and art of the Orient. On canvas, she combines traditional painting with techniques taken from the art of mehendi. Her works have been presented in 10 solo exhibitions and 14 group exhibitions. In 2018, she collaborated with the Jacek Malczewski National Museum in Radom, where she presented a demonstration of henna painting. The event was part of the Night of Museums. Her works are in many private collections and abroad.
