Prominent figure of the Polish avant-garde, leading representative of Constructivism, creator of geometric abstraction, relief objects, but also scenographic designs and posters. The artistic activity of Henryk Stażewski left a significant mark in the development of domestic modern art, also through the functioning of artistic groups of which he was an initiator or member (Groups of Cubists, Constructivists and Suprematists "Blok", "Praesens", "a.r"). The offered composition was created in the early 1960s, depicts the artist's characteristic interest in geometric forms. Overlapping oval shapes can also be found in relief compositions from this period (for example, using copper sheeting). Stażewski experimented at the time with compositional arrangements and their configurations, took up the issues of order and chaos, and was fascinated by the color white. Signed and dated, this work is a unique project that is a record of the artist's conceptual ideas.
