"Warszawianka" is a drama written by Stanislaw Wyspianski. "Warszawianka" contains a commentary on the November Uprising, which refers to a song by Casimir Delavigne with the same title. The motifs of this song, especially the repeated words: "Behold, today is the day of blood and glory [...] today is your triumph or your death" play an important role in the drama, deepening the mood of disbelief shared by the assembled generals and aristocratic leaders of the uprising, decrying the mysterious "fate" of unknowable forces that govern man and history. The drama takes place on the day of the Battle of Olszynka Grochowska on February 25, 1831 at the headquarters of General Jozef Chłopicki, stationed at Grochowski Manor. The persons of the drama are the generals of the November Uprising: Jozef Chłopicki, Jan Skrzynecki, staff officers and two girls, Anna and Maria, whose fiancées take part in the battle for Olszynka Grochowska.
