"Konarski's work was a breakthrough as far as literature of this type in Poland was concerned, since previously the system of other states had been spoken of mainly by citing examples of despotic absolute monarchies. The work was initially met with outrage by the nobility, but over time examples of works citing other states as models for the organization of government began to become more frequent, and a generation later Konarski's work was the inspiration and one of the foundations of the political reform of the May 3 Constitution."
