Łodzianin - a newspaper; the press organ of the Polish Socialist Party, coming out since October 1900 as an underground publication. In the Second Republic it was published as a daily until the outbreak of World War II. The first clandestine issue of "Łodzianin" was published in October 1900.Initially printed in the London printing house of the PPS, from the third issue printing was transferred to Warsaw. The newspaper went out irregularly until the outbreak of the 1905 revolution. By 1906, 28 issues were published, but demand for it increased as a result of revolutionary events, and 16 issues were published in 1906 alone. Beginning in June 1905, the printing of "Lodzianin" took place in Lodz, at an illegal PPS printing house operated by Zofia and Antoni Burkot. The newspaper was edited by, among others, Aleksei Rżewski, the first president of Lodz in the Second Republic, and Tomasz Arciszewski, Prime Minister of the Polish Republic in exile from 1944 to 1947 - both of whom belonged to the Combat Organization of the Polish Socialist Party. After the split in the PPS in 1906, two factions of the party, PPS-Left and PPS-Revolutionary Faction, published a newspaper under the same title in 1907-1908. Since 1908. "Łodzianin" became the exclusive press organ of the PPS-FR. The newspaper was also published during World War I, from March 1915 with the subtitle: "organ of the Lodz District of the Polish Socialist Party". Among those who cooperated with the newspaper were Aleksander Napiórkowski - member of the Legislative Sejm (1919-1922) and participant in the Polish-Bolshevik war, Antoni Purtal - member of the city council and deputy mayor of Lodz, Aleksy Rżewski, Tadeusz Waryński - son of Ludwik Waryński, deputy mayor of Lodz, member of the Sejm of the third term in the Second Republic, and Stanisław Więckowski - social and independence activist, doctor of the Polish Army (Wikipedia).
