Good condition. Handwritten dedication by the author's wife to a student, not listed here, of the secret classes organized during the occupation by the staff of the Jan Kazimierz University in Lvov. Roman Longchamps de Berier was one of the most prominent civilians of pre-war Poland, Professor and the last rector of UJK. In September 1939, he co-organized the Civil Committee for the Defense of Lviv. After Lviv was occupied by the Germans on July 4, 1941, he was arrested and murdered along with his three sons. Twenty-five Lviv scientists and members of their families lost their lives at that time. Longchamps de Berier's wife and his youngest son survived the massacre. One of the students, at the request of the then dean of the Faculty of Law, helped the widow in her daily life, for which she repaid him with her husband's book with an appropriate dedication. The identity of the recipient will be revealed to the new owner of the book.
