Pożoga is an autobiographical novel in which the author describes the events in Volhynia during the revolutionary period when Russian, German and Austrian Bolshevik regiments, Petlurovian regiments, troops of Galician Sichniks and bands of revolutionized peasants rolled through the Volhynian land. The armed conflict between Poland and Ukraine is also described.
As Prof. Estreicher writes in the preface : " The book by p. Szczucka is a remarkable phenomenon as a historical document and as a literary work. (...)
