BŁOŃSKI Jan - Biedni Polacy patrzą na getto. Cracow 1994. literary publishing house. 8, s. 156, [3]. Broch.
Pre-edition card slightly yellowed, nevertheless very good condition. The publisher wrote on its website: "One of the most important voices in the discussion of the problem of Polish moral responsibility in the face of the Holocaust, a postulate for a national examination of conscience [...]. Blonski's essay was a milestone in the debate on Polish responsibility towards the Holocaust." The title essay was first published in Tygodnik Powszechny, the pages of which read: "This was the most important article in the history of 'Tygodnik Powszechny' and played a great role in the history of Polish-Jewish dialogue. Blonski analyzes two poems by Milosz about the annihilation of the Ghetto. The widely known 'Campo di Fiori', and the other, dating from 1943, which is less explicit, difficult, terrible because it is full of fear. It was this second poem that inspired Jan Blonski to write the following article. The article caused an uproar, which should come as no surprise, as it violated deeply ingrained stereotypes of Polish thinking."
