Maslaw's rebellion against Christianity, royal power and German influence, the escape of Queen Ryksa with Prince Casimir to Germany, the Czech invasion, attempts to organize the defense of the country, Casimir's return to the Polish throne, the establishment of order in the country and coronation - this is the main historical content of the story. Interwoven into the interesting, colorfully outlined and full of variety plot is the legend of the famous robber Madej.
