Potocki, the last ordinate of Łańcut, preceded by the history of the family and the history of the palace. The author "belonged to the strict establishment of the Second Republic and often provided reception services for it [...]. It was in his castle in Lancut that balls for the diplomatic corps, tennis tournaments and hunts were organized. He also received foreign guests, including Romanian King Ferdinand I and Queen Mary and George Duke of Kent, and just before the outbreak of war, Joachim von Ribbentrop was a guest at his palace. According to Maj. A. Winogrodzki [...] Alfred Antoni Potocki often hosted Hermann Göring at his home during World War II and the ongoing German occupation, and refused to cooperate with the Home Army. On March 24, 1956, he married in Monte Carlo to Izabela (Izadora) Narkiewicz-Jodko, who in 1959 in London published a volume of Alfred's memoirs [...]. He was buried in Lausanne; his ashes were brought to Łańcut to the Potocki burial crypt at the parish church in 2001" (Wikipedia).
