Pieces belonging to Adam Mickiewicz (or, and) C. K. Norwid as evidenced by handwritten ownership signatures of both poets. On the blank pre-title page a handwritten signature: "Norwid Rome. 1848", on the title page "A. Mickiewicz". Also, on the title page handwritten signature "Duhamel" [Georges Duhamel (1884-1966) - French writer, member of the French Academy]. On the back of the pre-title page, handwritten note in French "les maximes de la Rochefoucauld sont les provarbes des gans d`esprit". Montesquieu, "Pensees diverses" which means "La Rochefoucauld's maxims are the proverbs of wise men " Montesquieu. "Miscellaneous Thoughts." Binding with scuffs on spine, front cover loose, no. traces of discoloration of the covers, otherwise good condition. Very rare.
