A medical work on the aphorisms of Hippocrates - the true and the outdated ones. Georg Friedrich Laurentius (1594-1673) - physician, pharmacist and publicist of Lubin origin. He attended gymnasium in Görlitz, then studied in Wittenberg and Padua, where he received his doctorate. He was a doctor in Danzig and later in Leipzig, but due to the Thirty Years' War he had to leave these cities and eventually settled in Hamburg. He was court physician to Frederick III Oldenburg, ruler of Denmark and Norway, as well as Greenland and Iceland. In the final years of his life he lived in Lübeck.
