Maliszewski 113. Covers rubbed, slight browning of paper, otherwise good condition inside. In the text, vignette and ornamentation in woodcut. The volume contains texts of documents relating to the lives of the two rulers, including "an inventory of the things left after the death of the King of His Majesty" (hunting javelins six, maps three larger, the fourth smaller), "a report from the autopsy of the body of Stefan Batory" (kidneys extraordinary, as bovine: which is strange because in a man the kidneys are like in a scopa), a genealogical table of the Batory family. The work is a continuation of Adam Naruszewicz's History of Poland. The first edition was published in Warsaw in 1823. The publisher mentions the complete exhaustion of the first edition.
