On the occasion of the great international exhibition devoted to illustrated books - Salon International de Livre d'Art in Paris, Mortkowicz designed and published at his own expense this album, which is a review of Polish editing in the first thirty years of the twentieth century. Colorful inserts depicting the achievements of Polish publishers, book illustrations by well-known Polish graphic artists, fine wood-free paper, and a special font made up an exquisite and expensive whole. The book was not for sale. He distributed it generously to the participants of the exhibition as a gift from the Polish publisher to editors around the world.
