Maliszewski 3590. Abrasions of spine edges, cloth on spine slightly cracked, inside very good condition. Ekslibrises by Jan Czernecki. The story of a violent, romantic and unfulfilled love between an outstanding painter and a young girl who came from an old, French-German, Polishized for two generations Lvov family. Grottger met Wanda Monné when she was 16 years old. He was 13 years older than her. He had only two years of life ahead of him. The lovers' poignant letters and diaries, as well as unknown, unique documents in the family's possession, document their fate in detail and shed much light on Grottger's work. The Medyka Library was a private publishing house founded in 1925 in Medyka by two families, the Pawlikowski and Wolski families, who were friends and distinguished for Polish culture. Between 1925 and 1939, 15 titles, known here as "opuses," were published.
